Paula Hallam

Egginton, Derby / Fine Art Painting

Opening days

Saturday 26th May
Sunday 27th May
Monday 28th May

The visual language I use is deeply influenced by a love of dramatic landscapes and their sense of place. I have traveled to many of Britain’s remote destinations to paint and draw in the open air. Locations of special significance are Pembrokeshire, Malvern Hills, North Norfolk and Derbyshire.

I am also interested in the use of art as a vehicle for expressing emotions and how the line between the pictorial and abstract can be blurred, creating a new exciting world of colour that escapes from the weight of modernity and the mundane.

I mainly work with acrylics, constructing complex layers of translucent paint to arrive at a desired destination.

I studied at Coventry University & gained a PG Cert in Fine Arts Practice from the University of Derby. I have also been a guest Artist at the Kunstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral in Germany & have had many exhibitions here in the UK. I'm currently working on new works for future exhibitions.

Will undertake commissions
Is prepared to give tuition and/or workshops
