Glossop, Derbyshire / Wide Variety Of Media
I am a designer/maker of clocks, coasters, wall art, jewellery and wooden giftware. I make all my designs and products in my tiny workshop, on my own, start to finish.
I have a strong mathematical and musical background, which I incorporate into my designs. Everything I produce has been designed in a CAD package, then cut out or engraved either by one of my laser cutters, or built on the 3D printer. I love the mix of hi-tech making methods with traditional hand made techniques.
Brook Street Revamps – Maria Forde
I am an avid up-cycler and I have over 25 years’ experience restoring, revamping, reupholstering and painting furniture and furnishings.
I have a passion for rescuing discarded items otherwise bound for landfill.
I studied art at Leicester College of Art and Chelsea School of Art.
My career included working as a graphic designer in publishing, as an animator at Cosgrove Hall Films working on Dangermouse, Duckula and the BFG. Latterly I moved into the games and educational software industry.
Now retired, I have taken up watercolour painting, my work being influenced by hedgerows and my garden in the Peak District.
Having had a career as a children's book illustrator for various publishers, and animator for Cosgrove Hall Films, I now paint in my Glossop studio. I work in a variety of media and enjoy painting figures, landscapes and fantasy pictures.
I have exhibited at Buxton and Stockport Art Galleries as well as the Portico and Buy Art Fair in Manchester.
I produce a wide range of hand-built ceramics including pots, animal sculptures, masks and decorative wall hung abstract pieces. I am currently experimenting with heavily textured clay decorated with slips and volcanic or lava glazes.
Alice Pike is a costume designer and stylist who creates corsets, headpieces and other fantasy fashion pieces. She is inspired by the natural world and the amazing performers, models and actors she collaborates with.
