Banks Mill is home to a diverse range of artists, designers and makers in the creative heart of Derby.  Visit our artists and makers in their working studios to find out the techniques and inspiration behind their original, handmade products, commission bespoke pieces and see an exhibition of their artwork around the walls of the building.

Located on the West side of Derby city centre, on the corner of Brook and Bridge Street it is 10 minutes’ walk from the Intu Centre and just a few miles from Derby’s bus and train stations.

Kirstie Adamson

Kirstie is a magazine collage artist, who doesn't use any imagery from the magazines but instead uses the colours and textures that she finds as an alternative to paint.

Susan Bedford

Susan is a mixed media textile artist creating original wall art, limited edition prints, art cards and unique textile jewellery

Barbara Colbert

Barbara produces charcoal, pen and ink drawings, often with the addition of precious metal leaf. The subject matter is of wildlife and natural forms in the local landscape. She is especially interested in the symbolism and mythology connected with animals and birds.

Stevie Davies Contemporary Fused Glass

Stevie has been running a varied creative practice for over 10 years but with fused glass being her main specialism. Continually developing through constant experimentation she finds being a freelance tutor in numerous materials and techniques a source of ideas for continual reinvention.

Mig Holder

Mig combine’s her love of textiles with a life-long habit of recycling. Her work spans a very wide spectrum - from basic clothing alterations to exhibited textile art. Her innovative garments, accessories and textile art made using recycled and remnant materials will be on show during the event.

Sue McNair

Sue takes inspiration from everyday life objects and has experimented with various mediums. Sue now works in clay creating innovative wall art, bowls and ceramic flowers.
